There was a lot about 2016 that was terribly disappointing but this is not the place to discuss those things. Instead I want to celebrate some of my favorites among the dozens of different vehicles I drove over the past year. I got to spend anything from hours to weeks with everything from hard-core sports cars to plug-in hybrids to the latest in family haulers. The following vehicles are ranked in no particular order and I judge them based on how well they work at what they are supposed to do. This is a purely subjective list on my part and there are a number of vehicles that I might have included like the Chevrolet Bolt, if only I’d had the opportunity to actually drive them.
