Apparently, in addition to the new hybrid car that Nissan is developing, they will also be building a fully battery-powered electric car. The Japanese paper Nihon Keizai Shimbun is reporting that a subcompact electric equipped with lithium-ion batteries is on the way by 2010. The car is expected to have a range of about 120 miles on a charge. That's about double the range of the HyperMini EV they had recently killed off. The new in-house developed hybrid may also be a plug-in model.
