One of the commenters wondered whether such a vehicle might be based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2006\/02\/24\/lotus-apx-concept-unveiled\/\">Lotus APX concept<\/a> that was shown last year. I took this intriguing idea to the source and asked Tesla. According to Darryl Siry, the new VP of Marketing at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teslamotors.com\">Tesla<\/a>, they currently have no plans to build a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/crossover\/\">crossover<\/a>, and the next vehicle they&#x27;re working on is a 4-door, 5-passenger sedan that they&#x27;ve previously announced. They are working with a variety of suppliers to design and build a totally <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/research\/\">new car<\/a> in such a short time (about three years from now), and they are planning a factory of their own.
