We&#x27;ve never heard of Recapping before, but the startup is backed by Khosla Ventures and recently received a $ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/polestar\/1\/\">1<\/a> million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.<\/p>\n<p>The money is supposed to be used for research and development work on a 3D nanocomposite structure ultra-capacitor. Recapping is affiliated with Pennsylvania State University but has never publicly announced or demonstrated its technology. The project is aiming at performance of 400 Wh\/kg and a target cost of around $250\/kWh.
