The engines will be <a href=\"http:\/\/green.autoblog.com\/2008\/10\/28\/ford-announces-110m-investment-to-build-1-6l-ecoboost-in-uk-in\/\">built at the Bridgend in Wales<\/a> starting with a 1.6-liter displacement. Like the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 now debuting in North America, the four has direct injection and turbocharging. Just as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/volkswagen\/\">Volkswagen<\/a> does with its similar 1.4-liter TSI engines, the EcoBoost engines will be available at several power levels.<\/p>\n<p>The first version, which has appeared this year in the Iosis-Max, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/lincoln\/\">Lincoln<\/a> Concept C and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/volvo\/s60\/\">Volvo S60<\/a> concepts, will be rated at 180 hp. Further versions will be available at 130 and 150 hp levels. The EcoBoost fours will also be paired up with the new PowerShift dual clutch gearbox.
