The Calibra was popular in Europe through most of the decade and formed the basis for Opel&#x27;s DTM efforts in the early to mid &#x27;90s before fading into the sunset. In the last few years, Opel and Vauxhaul have offered the now discontinued RWD <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/holden\/\">Holden<\/a> Monaro coupe and now they are looking for a replacement, which may end up being a new Calibra. <br \/>\n Last March at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/geneva-motor-show\/\">Geneva Motor Show<\/a>, Opel showed off the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2007\/03\/06\/live-from-geneva-its-the-opel-gtc-concept\/\">GTC concept coupe<\/a> that revealed the design direction for the next generation Vectra. The GTC proved to be so popular that Opel is now looking at adding a production version of the coupe to European <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/car-dealers\/\">dealerships<\/a>.
