USA Today picks the Ford"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ever since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/\">Ford<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/green.autoblog.com\/2008\/11\/21\/ford-fusion-hybrid-to-start-27-270-39-mpg-city\/\">revealed the Fusion hybrid<\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/la-auto-show\/\">LA Auto Show<\/a>, the discussion has been hot and heavy among fans of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/toyota\/prius\/\">Prius<\/a>. While Ford has proclaimed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/fusion\/\">Fusion<\/a> as the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/fuel+efficiency\/\">fuel efficient<\/a> mid-size &#8220;sedan,&#8221; Prius fanboys reiterate that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/toyota\/\">Toyota<\/a> is classed as a mid-size car based on interior volume. While that is certainly true, based on body styles the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/toyota\/camry\/\">Camry<\/a> is truly the Fusion&#x27;s natural competitor. Over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/money\/autos\/reviews\/healey\/2009-02-05-2010-ford-fusion-hybrid_N.htm\">USA Today<\/a>, auto critic Jim Healey has had an opportunity to spend some time with the new Ford and has made his call. Somehow, Healey managed to get 27.2 mpg over a week in the Fusion although he did top 40 mpg on a couple of trips. In spite of missing out on <a href=\"http:\/\/green.autoblog.com\/2008\/12\/23\/ford-fusion-hybrid-officially-rated-at-41-mpg-on-the-highway\/\">the Fusion&#x27;s EPA numbers<\/a> he still chooses the Fusion for the same reasons that I am partial to the Ford. Namely, the Ford is much more pleasurable to drive. Granted, we haven&#x27;t yet tried the 2010 Prius, but while the current model is clearly efficient, the dynamics leave a lot to be desired.
